Suilven in Assynt, Wester Ross , Scotland. Assynt has some of the most destinctive mountains in Scotland, every one is totally different in Strusture, I hope this is one of a series...

Great light on the mountain, and a great mountain also.

Nice to see it from the Elphin side for a change, and on a fairly good day by the look of it.

Great shot of one of my favourite mountains Dougie. I haven't been up Lochinver way in ages. Must try to get up there again this year.

It was into the late afternoon and the light was going fast, I was very lucky to find the hole in the scenery to find this shot. Glad youve been there and seen Assynt, did you go round the single track road???
All the best

Hello Dougie, this is a very imposing mountain which you have captured well...the rocky precipices feature sharply in the glancing sinlight and I am admiring the detail in your sky. Good work.
Doug.

Its a grand mountain alright, Dougie and all the more imposing because of its relative isolation. You've captured it perfectly. Wonderful detail in the large version.

Stunning shot. The sidelighting captured the mountain well.

I've had one of my best mountain days EVER on Suilven, and this brings back happy memories. You've balanced the composition very well, giving more emphasis to the sky. And as commented above, the light on the mountain lifts it from the surrounding landscape. Lovely work.
