...a little village that overlooks the Sound of Tongue in Sutherland.
The sun popped out of the clouds and lit up the headland at the right moment.

Certainly looks a grey heavy day , the patch of light was most likely brief but worth being set up for.

Clarity and wonder as far as the eye can see, a wonderful spectacle for all to see.

A superb viewpoint and a good choice of Aperture. Once again you have done your homework, thought about it and Bingo. Another fine image to add to the collection Dougie.

As ever, so well composed, Dougie, and as you say the sun is just catching where required and even bringing out some greens in the sea.
The light shining in the breaking waves, wet sand and road carry the eye nicely across the middle ground to the village, headland and then the shady mountains which contain the scene in the far distance.
Ronnie.

You had the foresight to be there waiting for it! Inspirational weather-watching as well as superb photography.

Lovely light catching the water on the sand. But you've given pride of place to the source of that light...

How long did you sit there, the shot all set up, waiting for that elusive sun to put in an appearance, Dougie?
When the sun did arrive, it was perfectly positioned to illuminate the headland spot on, and add light to the road and the sand, creating very good lead-ins.
A very successful image indeed.
