...sitting on his lonely perch (?) beside the little pier at Bettyhill on the Pentland Firth.
It looks more like somewhere in the Caribbean than Scotland and it was just about as hot too.

It took me a while to find him. Smile
Superb landscape, difference to the Caribean: there would be more people on the beach. That's why I love Scotland so much. No people at all!

It does indeed look like a Tropical destination, and how I would love to be dunking me toes into that lovely crystal clear water at this moment in time...

Alone with the sea and his thoughts. Who would not be inspired by such a location?

I thought it would be on the west from the looks of it but then the east's had the better of it this summer. Lovely layered comp and an attractive hourglass shape made by the clouds and the sand bar.

Clean clear water and light. With that loop of sand and the baseline of rocks. Takes me there.

Makes me want to go back....
Beautiful place, fine image.
I'm told the river (Naver) is desperately low & fishing's been poor.

The soft colour of the water and the sand are unmistakably Scotland. When the weather's like this in Scotland, I'm often reminded if the Mediterranean without the bad bits! Super composition with the semi circular land encroaching into the sea.

I remember once walking onto a beach in the Orkney islands and thinking the exact same thing - closest I'd ever seen to the Caribbean. This is a lovely shot. Love the colour and composition.

Looks gorgeous and another one I would like to swim in. Have been pleasantly surprised by a Scottish beach this week. Moira
