...photographers think of the mountains here from Elgol, where this is the side that most climbers start from. This is taken from the north of Glen Brittle near Straun on the Isle of Skye.

Looking down, looking across - two totally different worlds.
It's so long since I was there...

It's so long since I was there, too, but Moira types faster BlushBlushBlush
The prominent diagonal ridge almost forms a barrier between the light in the foreground and the brooding peaks in the background, full of menace like witches huddled round their cauldron.

That's a nice area of sunlit fields in the near ground, Dougie, but it's the clouds spilling over the peaks that makes this one so special........almost like an over-enthusiastic baker applying too much icing to the top of her cake.

Good bit of light.

And I believe it's a good hike before you can actually start climbing!

Can't add to what Ronnie says... he's got it spot on.

That cloud looks ready to roll down those mountains. Love it. One of these days I will get over to Skye. Moira

What a stunning landscape! The clouds on the tops look a bit like snow, but it's a bit too early to start thinking of that!

Like the view point and foreground light, together with the clouds hugging the mountain tops.
Good one Dougie

The Cuillins are a dramatic backdrop but for me it's the light on the fields and the bracken that really make the image Dougie. The moment was well chosen.

This one is all about the light Dougie and as you are the master of light in the landscape on this site I can do no more than gaze in wonderment at it.

Those clouds climbing over the ridge like waves about to crash down on a beach, Dougie.

I get the impression that the fg light is about to disappear, so you timed this perfectly.
Did you have to wait long to get this?

Beautiful sight with the veil of clouds hanging from their head.
