That is a spectacular scene. Storm light is always so wonderfully dramatic, and you have made the very best of it.

A big scene and an even bigger sky, Dougie: a very atmospheric image and the light has been beautifully captured.
I like that layer of haze across the far distance.
Nice to see you back on site.
I was wondering how things were with you and had thought of emailing you but worried you'd feel I was a nosey old sod.
Ronnie.

Concern for a friend isn't nosey Ronnie. I'm absolutely fine my friend. Just needed some down time, my trip was about ME time and photography not the other way round.

Sometimes just watching the light change without looking through the camera is just as rewarding I find.

Thanks for the thought.

How very true, Dougie. Sometimes we forget to put the camera down and simply enjoy what is in front of us with our eyes and mind.

Glad you stayed long enough to capture the impending downpour before making your escape.

Good to have you back...I can cross off sending you a PM from the little 'to do' list I have. I was beginning to wonder...

Looking at the power and weight of that cloud rushing in malevolently, it's easy to understand how the ancients saw gods in the elements. There's a strong character in that cloud and he's not friendly today.

same here Dougie, I am out of touch with members due to my own absence but did miss your photography and like Ronnie wondered if you were ok. Realise now from your reply to Ronnie there was no need for concern - must add I do like this very dramatic sky

A threatening sky indeed Dougie.
I think that is why I like photographing in Leith.
When I see a sky like this,
there are plenty pubs to head into !!

I'm glad to see you back with this marvellous image of Scottish weather at its best Dougie. The sky is what it's all about and it's showing off to its best. Marvellously atmospheric! I'm pleased to have a 'dose' of Scotland again now you're back - even if temporarily!

Looks like the rain came with gale force! We had some heavy rains here as well, but the garden needed the water. Today was very cool, compared to the temperatures we had last week. At the weekend we shall be back to the heat. So they say.

This image is amazing. Stunning sky and atmosphere.
Nice to see you're back with my daily dose of Scotland.
Yesterday a wee hairy coo surprised me. Thanks a lot!

This is a beautiful image Dougie with wonderful variation in the tones of the clouds. The clouds on the left and the passing squall on the right break up the line of mountains nicely.

Phil.
