This was taken a couple of weeks ago during a walk by the River Derwent it was for the reality? group's February theme delicate. I'm rather fond of it.
V2 and V3 playing around with toning...
Thanks for looking,
Moira

I really like all the lines that make up this image Moira.
It is difficult to choose a version, they all work.
Ok, Im going for the stronger toning of V2.

Thanks everyone and good morning.
V3 is in the lead by a whisker. The tonal variations are all done with Photoshop Elements >Colour Variations, but after the basic toning I desaturate by 40%. I like the effect.

The rebel!
A nice selection of tones. I think I'll pick V1 as fave, but only by a whisker. They all look good.

Great use of depth of field here, Moira, nicely toned in V2 & V3, but think V1 has to be my fave Wink

Like the simplicity to these ones Moira.
Think the cool blue tone to V3 works rather well.
Perhaps it is because it has a bit of ''colour'' to it !!

V1 without a doubt. To me the image is made into a photograph by that one strand of diagonal grass. It Reads Well.

A rising diagonal in a positive direction, Moira.
V2 gets the nod, a subtle understated colour variation.

The subtle grey green in V2 wins for me Moira, they are all very good indeed with that wonderful diagonal strand of the reed grass. The sort of image that cries out for a large print.
The toning adds a certain natural quality to the monochrome conversion. Tremendous work.
