The sinking sun, remaining blue sky and snow on the mountains made quite a cocktail on this lovely evening in Glencoe or 'The place of Stones/cairns', A' Charnaich.
This is an excellent and amazing photo !! Stunning
Stunning shot !!!......top quality !
Very dramatic, Alun, LOTResque. The snow dusting gives some lovely sculpting to the land.
great image Alun.
top drawer image, processing is first class, love the presntation
Wow!!! a stunning capture, a truly awesome scene
Wow!! Alun, you've managed to capture a beautiful scene at the perfect time of year and perfect time of day, beautifully composed and a lovely sparkle to the sun adding to the beauty of the scene, outstanding work.
Smashing image Alun
Wonderful landscape - perfect timing with the sun.
Spectacular plus outstanding timing. Instead of hiding the road as so many do you've used it as a lead in then the setting sun makes a great FP in the distance. I always feel a bit of snow helps sculpt the hill and that sky just adds even more drama!
Stunning...as good as they get this is... have a Bruffy award
Class shot , everything works great
A fantastic and very emotive image from the Glen of Tears. Photographed by millions over the years and I thing this is very close to the best shot i personally have ever seen.
My WeeTree is on the way, my friend.
Wow! That is encouraging. I uploaded a different frame from the same viewpoint with different pp to see if you consider it an improvement. I'm so chuffed to receive all votes and comments and in particular at receiving UA's from Ant, Al, Mark, Paul, Richard and Dougie. Feels like Christmas, guys. Many thanks. This was one of two images I had pre-conceived and nature was kind to me as were the good folk at the visitor centre who consulted my Harvey map, discussed the level of challenge for a reasonably fit lone walker and gave me great insights on place names etc. I loved it and was in my element.
wow! wow! and a lot more wow! alun this is first class top top capture nice one
My hat is truely off!!! Amazing.....
Stunning lanscape, Makes me long to be there.
Thanks a lot and to you Sylvia for the medal
Fab detail and colour textures.Stunning!!!
Alun, I have walked and climbed many places in Glencoe but this has to be one of my favourite places. Fanatic image, captured at the perfect time of the day with the sun setting at the pass of Glencoe, very well done my friend. Glad you enjoyed your time in Scotland, look forward to more of your images. Bill.
Both absolute crackers but V2 has the edge for me, stunning scene and so well handled too.
Oh yes now you're talking!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Paul and Martin -
Extraordinary detail in the hillside brought out by the snow and that wonderful light. A cracking image Alun!
have another one on me... I'm just stunned!
Thanks Ann and wow, Annette! I really appreciate your UA and am glad you like it.
Oh Wow Alun, you've hit the sweet spot!!
It's a belter
The perfect shot...amazing composition and the sun's rays just perfectly positioned. Ann
Superb image, Alun.
The quality of light and exposure is superb. Either image is the sort of shot any landscape photographer dreams of capturing and its impossible to separate them in terms of technical quality so I wont attempt to.
Hope you have a big chest because here is another medal.
V2 gets my gold star!
You just get better and better, this just blows me away.
Amazing work Alun, think you should use this for the book cover!!
Beautiful image! Congrats on all the well deserved awards.
Fantastic work mate, and personally would have been well chuffed to have got either of them in my p/f (you can send one over if you like, I won't tell anyone!!)
Goodness me, i nearly missed this one. Superb! Yet another UA
Utterly overwhelmed by the response and all the awards. I will retire to bed resplendent in forum bling Thanks to all for the votes, comments and UA's. Being there to witness this was a great reward in itself but knowing that it appeals to others is great too.
Fantastic shot Alun - V2 has a bit more drama for me so thats my preference and thats where my UA goes - well done.
Blimey, Geoff, you too! Thanks a lot. V2 is my fave but I could process this time and again and it would look different each time. The wife said. 'Bet it didn't look like that' so I had the pleasure of showing her the RAW file to prove her wrong :0)
I've never seen so many awards in the one lace before. Bringing out another one is unreal. Alun.
Excellent work well done with all the awards I think V2 just has the edge.
Your best I think Alun. That is just an amazing shot with stunning light. V2 for me.
