...I've shot this view of the trees against Blaven before, but the light was catching the autumn colours and changed the scene so much I had to stop and share the view of this magnet of a mountain on Skye.

Those beautiful Scottish birch trees - they're so vibrant against the sombre mountain. A wonderful scene Dougie - you've 'done good'! Smile

A wonderful scene, Dougie, you have caught the light perfectly.
Love the contrast between the turf and the gabbro wall of Blaven.

Certain well worth stopping to take this Dougie, the light on the trees makes them stand out well against the darker hills.
Well worked
Regards Richard

Well captured Dougie. I've found the birches autumn colour round here to be very shortlived this year probably due to the gales earlier in october.

A lovely composed image, a sleepy little hollow the house is in. Surrounded by mountains, hills and trees. So lovely in Autumn too.............Sandy

Another lovely image Dougie. Well framed with those three trees catching the light and providing some colour against the backdrop of the grey mountains and cloud.

the little house gives scale to the mountains and the trees all bendy from the wind make this a great picture

Really beautiful Dougie. The inclusion of the church - or is it a house? - adds so much to the image.

Sorry to be so late in clicking........Home Hub would not connect to Internet yesterday.
This is just the sort of shot I aspire to capturing, Dougie: composition so well handled, and the way the light is highlighting the autumn leaves and f/g in contrast with the shadowed backdrop of Blaven is just perfect.
The presence of the building in the hollow helps one to appreciate scale too.

Great contrast between the fg and the bg - giving the image amazing depth.
The colour of the birches' leaves set the image afire, while the blue ridge of the mountains and the grey sky cool everything down again. What a place for a wee cottage!
