Sisters and sinners

Sisters and sinners by HelenaJ

Definitely think this is a good photo, particularly as it doesn't show the expected happy smiling faces, but shows a bit more character. Good lighting, I like the dappled effect on the floor.

Love the tones here, great shot

Love version 1 for its colours, but the scene is so timeless that version 3 works beautifully in sepia.

Lovely image, and the tones work really well in mono, my guess is the background would be very obtrusive in colour as I assume the flowers on the wallpaper are red. Good choice of treatment.

Love the night time feel of this.

Definitely a winner, the DoF is good, had any morel of the bridge been in focus I think it would have ruined the shot, as you say this image was partly fortuitous but I think you must still take much of the credit.

Really great look, the eyes are captivating.

The model, pose, lighting and processing are all very good, but like Philo I would be inclined to lose the little black patches on the floor and wall. But still very good.

Great shot Ade, despite the weather. Am I allowed to vote on this, or do I have to wait until you've spent the 4.5 hours messing with the image.

I really like this one, it would look good on the wall. Just to be picky with the bacground, it could possibly benefit from having a clean background, particularly the orange patch at the top edge.

cracking shot of a great building, you've even managed to hide the huge building site to the right of City Hall, an acheivement in its self.

I like the simplicity of this mono rendering. Great model and another enjoyable evening.

I prefer the mono version, however this is partly down to the look on the girls face. Having looked at Woodrows photo as referee to above I think the major difference is that the subject in this case appears to be looking into space rather than looking at something or someone specific out of shot.

I like the mono treatment, the lack of eye contact can work, however in this case I am not so sure, the little girl appears to be looking at someone out of shot, which unfortunately I find slightly distracting.
