I like #1 better than #2. Color version tell a better story for this shot. Like the composition, dirt road leading to the piles of bricks and then to the chimney.

If you look closer, there is smoke or 'traces of smoke' coming out from the chimney, try reducing highlight to see if it brings the smoke out even more. There are traces of blue in the sky, try increase saturation of blue in this photo to see how it works for you. Have fun

Interesting image within the scope of the subject. I prefer No1 too.
Look a little over exposed to me with the tops of the piles of brick starting to burn out.
The stack is not quite vertical.
Tried a mod but my result is not that good. Recovered a little detail in burnt areas but not really sorted out the slightly washy looking colours.

Ian

Brickworks can provide a lot of good photo opps, but they are usually cloe up, where you can show details of the works.

This shows the whole set up quite well, and, as its shot with the Sun almost directly overhead, is typical of any shot taken at this time, in that its rather flast, and doesnt have that critical element to give depth and contrast, - shadows. This would be a shot best taken with the Sun lower in the sky.

Loaded a mod, - cant do any better because of the unsuitable light.

regards

Willie

A reasonable record but you are a touch over exposed as the top of the palleted bricks show. Having said that, there is more detail in v2. Strange that.

As a record, it must be in colour. Records should show things as they are. Of course, it's me saying it is a record. But a brickworks does lack pictorial content.
