I know nothing about portrait photography but I do like this and will try to explain why in my own way. I find the strong contrast between the blues of her clothes against the white background and her light coloured hair quite striking.
I like the compositon too and especially the models pose and thoughtful gaze.
What doesn't work for me is the black bra straps, which I think detract from the overall look of the image. Personal taste as well perhaps but I am not too keen on the tattoo either.
Regards,
Matt
well lit, well composed, well thought out and well executed, yes I would have this in my end of year exhibition at college if I was this good too, trouble is at that time I wasn't ![]()
Forgot to add that she reminds me of Sarah Harding from Girls Aloud....
Hi everyone,
The reason I chose this particular image is because its edgy, contrasty and most of all....simple..
I have some landscape work im putting in also but thought this would be really different.
My other half Tommy mentioned about the straps also, i think its one of them things you either really like or really dont ![]()
Shaz
The straps are an annoyance for me but probably not for younger people, the image is edgy as you say and I wish you all the best in your exams.

Thanks everyone for your comments.
My image got announced as the main image chosen by the designer and lecturers to appear on all advertising materials relating to the event. Im really very chuft as it will be every where from the newspaper to invites and posters.
Yay
