I live in West Sussex, hailing originally from Dorset and having passed through Southampton and London en route.

I've been a software engineer for the last 10 years, having previously spent a couple of years in the Royal Navy before heading off to Southampton university.

My first real interest in photography started when my wife's uncle gave her his old digital camera (a 3MP Kodak DC4800) - which I promptly commandeered! After getting some rather pleasing results my interest increased and I joined this site.

Having taken the DC4800 about as far as I could, with every add-on possible, I decided I wanted to take the plunge and get a ''serious'' DSLR. In March 2004 I got a Canon EOS 10D and a bunch of lenses.

Since then I haven''t looked back and I''m now well and truly hooked!
