Nice warm colour balance to this Barry, very autumnal. I think its a Penny Bun (Boletus edulus). Supposed to be one of the best tasting native 'shrooms - and someone has obviously taken a good few bites from it!

To me the "controversial" envelope is definitely integral to the shot. I read it as quite sad: it's the only mail that arrives for him but he keeps it as some form of contact with the outside world.
