My first Epping Forest meet fungi shot, and I think one of my better ones from that day!

This has been RAW processed and twice with different colour temperatures and combined to give a warm background colour but to retain the purple colour of the Amethyst Deceiver.

[210mm (with 500D closeup lens), f/8, 1/13s, ISO100]

Camera:Canon EOS 10D
Lens:Canon 70-300 DO IS USM + 500D

Yahoo!
I've been waiting for one of these today!
And very delicately done, Mr Ball, if I may say so.
I think it may be a rather unfortunate colour combination, though, purple against browny-orange...

Well thank you Katie. Of course, being a bloke I have no colour sense whatsoever! Wink

Well worth a try Mike. This was the first time I've been on a fungi shoot (so to speak!). Great fun and amazing what you see down there in the leaf mould when you look!

Cheers,
Shaun

Like it - well isolated from the surroundings and the colours are lovely. I've never seen one of these in the flash. Clix.

I just love these fungi. You have presented it well. Am still trying to achieve this effect.
