I've gone from one extreme to the other here. My last upload was our smallest garden visitor and today's is our biggest, the Grey Lourie, also known as the Grey Go-Away Bird because one of their calls sounds like "Away. Away". There's a breeding pair that visit us and whilst the female is more cautious and quiet, the male, whom we've named Mr. Squawky Beak, is very noisy and very tame, often sitting less than 1m away from us.
In this close-up shot I tried to catch him in mid-squawk and also get his magnificent crest backlit with the early morning sun. I think I partially succeeded on both counts.
