I went out early this morning to photograph the snow, no sunrise, but lots of fog. There are a couple of trees in the distance, if you look closely you can see them emerging from the mist.
Later the fog cleared, but this same composition was not as good due to the distracting things in the background.

Very subtle, the trees in the distance are hardly there at all.
I've been looking at the image, wondering if Stuart is right and that it would be a stronger image without the extra trees. And I'm not sure. But it wouldn't hurt to try and see what it looked like.

Thanks for the comments. I might try getting rid of the emerging trees, but tend to think they add some depth. If you squint at it (!) the background trees disappear, but the picture then looks a bit flat.
Malcolm, I deliberately left a lot of space on the left, though I did also do a vertical version with no space on the left. I might load the other version another day.

The white space on the left works brilliantly.
