I went out early this morning to photograph the snow, no sunrise, but lots of fog. There are a couple of trees in the distance, if you look closely you can see them emerging from the mist.

Later the fog cleared, but this same composition was not as good due to the distracting things in the background.

Lovely shot... IMHO would be stronger without the 'emerging trees'.

Very subtle, the trees in the distance are hardly there at all.

I've been looking at the image, wondering if Stuart is right and that it would be a stronger image without the extra trees. And I'm not sure. But it wouldn't hurt to try and see what it looked like.

Love the shot. Might be tempted to crop off some of lhs., though.

Thanks for the comments. I might try getting rid of the emerging trees, but tend to think they add some depth. If you squint at it (!) the background trees disappear, but the picture then looks a bit flat.

Malcolm, I deliberately left a lot of space on the left, though I did also do a vertical version with no space on the left. I might load the other version another day.

Well done on this shot

Fabulous composition.
The white space on the left works brilliantly.

Make one hell of a print Sheila. Soft recession with a hint of landscape. Superb. Ron.
