Another from my visit to Galloway in June of this year.
This is one of the Drumtroddan Stones. According to the guidebooks and the site information board there should be two of the three stones still standing. In fact only one remains upright.
It has the appearance of a tall figure wearing a hooded cloak of lichen, standing silent and motionless, keeping watch over the surrounding countryside. It has stood like this for thousands of years, now in the warm afternoon sunshine having defied another onslaught from the elements retreating into the distance.
Sounds like a scene from a sci-fi / fantasy novel. Black & white seemed the obvious treatment for this.
