You are trying to make something here of the sun itself, but that is also your problem. It is rarely a good idea to shoot into a full sun as contrast drops and flare usually results as here. If you are going to do this, you need manual and need to expose very much less to get a darker, punchy image.

I can see what you're trying to do with the sun but the overall image needs to be a little more interesting. May be try to capture the sky with a dramatic sunset.
