Well today's adventure was to a 1940's event at Whitwell, Norfolk. My friend from work wanted me to take some photos of him in his 1940's gear so I went along to see what else I could see. Obviously the prohibition was not in the 1940's but this gun and how he was dressed reminded me of Al Capone.

Sadly the sun was horrendously bright so I had big problems with harsh shadows but I tried my best.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my photo, all comments and critiques are much appreciated.

Cheers,

Matt

To my understanding this machine gun is a military weapon of Italian manufacture used during WWII. *
Vera Mafia.
The original Thompson machine gun with the cylinder loading tin was nick-named "the typewriter"
it may be that this "typrewriter" is an Olivetti.

Tongue

*it does resemble though and a Russian machine gun of the WWII also... Blush

had it checked; it is a Russian machine gun of WWII called PPSh-41 ... It is not the Beretta 38A...

On a more critical photographic note I think that the graffiti behind your friend spoils the time effect you want to reproduce. I see him looking at me through one eye so he may be taking aim at me so at a rate of 900 rounds per minute I'd better say no more before he starts shooting Tongue

only because I fear he may not shoot straight and get me.

Thank you for your comments.

Pablo, I fear you have taken the photo a bit seriously this was just a quick snap with a gun that looked a bit like a 'Tommy' gun, it was a bit of fun at the end of the day. Also your choice of words about his eye you may need to be careful with, he actually lost that eye so maybe the comment
Quote: only because I fear he may not shoot straight and get me

was in bad taste.

I see what you mean about the graffiti though, I hadn't even noticed it until you mention it, cheers!

Thanks again for all the comments, they are all appreciated.
