There is an old monastary up there and the name has something to do with that apparently.

There is a slight haze on the shot but that is due to the light there. A UV filter will help cut it down but not eliminate it.
The best way is to increase the contrast a bit in post production.
If you have photoshop - hit the 'auto' buttons for contrast, colour etc ........... they may not work or be too strong, but they are always a good place to start and give you an idea.
