Balnakiel Beach at the very northern tip of Scotland.
A toned conversion of an image I uploaded a few weeks ago. I much prefer this version, it seems to emphasise the drama in the sky and the movement in the grasses.

Very impressive image, drama and so well suited to BW.

Tommy

very dramatic and very well converted to b+w
cheers

I nearly overlooked this Simon partly 'cos it's a mono, I'm not that keen unless they have impact. When I looked and went large then I realised it's dramatic, has atmosphere and is expansive. The light is beautiful.

Great monochrome image with the fantastic grasses in the FG a perfect foil for the drama of the sky.

You're teetering on the edge of disaster with the sky in parts, just stopping before the PS shows, but I think you have achieved the ultimate on this one.

All the very best my friend,
Dougie

very dramatic, perhaps a little too contrasty for my tastes, the sky and BG hills in particular, it is very effective though.

I haven't been up to Sutherland for a year or two now, and this makes me ache to go back, Simon.

Probably one of my favourite parts of the world.

Prefer this one. The sky on the left looks almost burnt to nothing on this monitor but I am using a laptop at the moment and its very bright. If the print looks good (which I am sure it does) then it looks fine to me.

Fantastic foreground and composition, sky a little too heavy top left for me but I'd still love this to be mine! Definitely more dramatic as a monochromatic photograph,

Ian.

This reminds me of a beach here in Shetland Simon, black and white was a great choice for this scene, the large version really shows off the detail, fine image, Adrian
