The shots are all less than 1/3 the original size; I was limited to the 70mm lens on a full frame camera; cropping closer would cause the detail in the sparrow to break up and become pixelated, so I sized it just on the edge of retaining good detail.


The shots are not meant to be images of a sparrow though, - and this is the important thing. There are shots of an encounter I had, at that restaurant table, while having a bottle of water ( it was 35C) and a muffin; it is intended that the bottle cap, the muffin wrapper, and the crumbs all lead the eye to the brave sparrow. So its important to keep the context in mind. The female sparrow itself herself is extremely accurately rendered, bot in colour and detail as you will notice.
