Its a very nice effect, and well done as far as I can see. I can only suggest a different composition which can be done in post processing, by having the guitar on a diagonal, and flipped to match the direction of light.

I used the lasso tool to select the guitar; the transform tool to tilt it, and painted in where the guitar was with black.

I have loaded a mod to show what I mean.

Hope this is useful,

Regards

Willie

Cheers for the mod, prefer the composition with the guitar on an angle, I've done more shots that are on my flickr account.
Herb 'n' Myth is my username if you want to look at them. Need to get my head round photoshop as I don't know what I'm doing with it really yet.
Thanks for the critique.

Both versions are pretty good. I think I prefer the diagonal version but it's close. Nice to see something a bit different.

I am very impressed with this, Simon, and also like your title. I know you like this type of work, and look forward to seeing more. I personally like Willie's modification and feel that it improves an already excellent image.
Pamela.

Thanks to all for your very positive comments, I did some similar shots with the guitar leant against the amp on an angle, they're on my flickr page, Herb 'n' Myth, is my user name on there. Feel free to check em out n comment. They are mostly SOOC, straight out of camera, no editing. Once again, thanks for the comments, very encouraging indeed.
