Just back from a few wild and wet days camping in Glencoe, managed to get just a few images from the trip. This photograph shows the remains of part of the Slate Quarry in Ballachulish where slate was exported all over the World. When the men retired from the quarry, they were given a slate headstone, rather than a gold watch, to thank them for there services. My sincere thanks to everyone for your very kind comments and for the awards on my previous upload, they are very much appreciated. Bill.

Excellent Bill, love the light, detail and colours. That moody sky is excellent.

A fine composition from the old slate quarry: I remember seeing these self same buildings in images that Dougie (Scottishlandscapes) posted some time back. The slate makes for such an interesting subject.

Lots of atmosphere in this image, think I would sooner have been given a gold watch instead of keep looking at my headstone

My husband found the slate quarry on our trip.
Didn't have time to do the walk but what an interesting place.
So much to see up there!
Didn't see where your image was taken - lovely atmospheric image
of interest.
