This was taken at Freshwater West Friday evening. I had gone out to photograph surfers but the couple that were there were too far out for my camera. I have made an alteration to this but only because I felt that the barbed wire and the monument to all those who lost their lives seemed to have a meaning to it for me. There was a possible picture which showed the actual monument and barbed wire but the sunset wasn't in the right place for the shot.

This is a really nicely thought out shot and certainly conveys a sense of reflection. For me I would have liked the silhouetted barbed wire to also be sharp although I believe this was possibly deliberate to frame the sharply silhouetted monument. None the less an interesting and thought provoking image.
