This picture was taken at my village in Himachal Pradesh. This is a traditional way of Shelling the Rice manually.
And in remote villages this process still exists. This picture was taken when very first rays of the sun reached here.
A rather emotive image, depicting these young children working in the hot and humid condition, beating the rice in order to ridden the inedible husks. Children in this country take it all for granted, that we can just pop to the nearest shop/supermarket to pick up a back of already processed rice. "If only they knew?"
