The path back down Glen Derry. A pocket of real Caledonian Pine which is now being allowed to flourish once more
Stunning...love the mono, great sky, good lead in and love the tree...beautifully captured
Very nice work !
Wow Rod an absolutely awesome Image, well processed and so very dramatic, Composition exposure focus, first class, Wow..John
This awakens desire to go walkies again Rod A lovely and luring image !!
Go for it Herman
Well composed and excellent in b&W.
braw laddie braw full of tones and hues great detail in the gorse with drama in the sky to finish it all off well exposed and composed Rod you will do for me today
Great comp, Rod, and nice conversion ( if it was a conversion? )
Very much like the veils of rain off in the distance, and the way all the movement in the image leads the eye to that point- the path, tree-line, movement in the heather, the cloud forms. Classy.
Which brings me to the sky. Hmmmm........don't like to be a party poop, but you won't ever get sycophantic bullshit from me, and so I have to be honest and say it's a fair bit overcooked for me , and I dinna gie a toss wat the others say.
Super compo, a superb landscape shot in mono!
Go for it Alan , you are right it is overcooked !! It was done for drama but iam still getting used tae some of this software so its all a matter of experimentation Finding the blend between drama and reality is a learning process for me at the moment so all comments are welcome as long as they are constructive Am away tae kick the dug noo lol !!! . I can learn from guys like yersel so every comment is priceless in my book.
Cheers Graham thanks for the UA its most appreciated
Only one thing to do with this super mono Rod

AWWWWWWWWWWWww she disnae deserve twae fits up the erse , she's lovely
Aye Alan yer a cunning sorta guy right enough
Good see a lead in placed on the "wrong" side, it works perfectl well. Can see points about the sky but I like the balance of the tree against the black cloud, top RH third. All the best, Si.
PS; John Constables' over-cooked skies sell for 6 figure sums.
Aye exactly Si , that's a point about the lead actually ,never really considered that ..... mmmmm . Tae be fair i have been messin about wi the skies alot recently in the uploads so who knows. Balance is the consideration methinks. Cheers for your take on the debate neebs

He didn't have Photoshop though, Si.
Ave no either I don't believe in photoshop , it offends my artistic integrity Alan

Goan ***** ye scots git
Aye saw right thru me then
This is a brilliant landscape image Rod. You have covered so many aspects well in this; composition, dramatic light, sky effect, fore mid and background interest. Even the cloud positions are perfect around the lone tree. Really impressive!
I like it. Photoshop, over cooking blah blah blah, so what. I'm looking at it on my monitor and it looks great, It's a pleasure to look at so nothing else matters. If it was printed large it may show a few dodgy areas, but on here that's irrelevant. Well worth my UA.
Beautiful composition and striking mono conversion.
When a saw this first a knew it was a cracker well done my man. The details spot on and the rainstorm in the distance really helps set the atmosphere.
Well done Rod and a think you deserve all the awards and I'm addin mine tae the bunch.
Cheers pal most appreciated
You certainly get them going on your site!!!!! love the banter!
The image is what we are looking at, and to me this your best yet, great work.
Thanks guys !!!!! 7 UA's WOW
This is a really great nature Monochrome, love the treatment and the PoV of the tree, and the sky is just great, Rod.................got a lot on at home.........will be in touch. phil.
