Not sure of the ID of this fly but it was quite well camoflagued on this Thistle stem.Help needed on ID.Thanks for all previous comments and votes.

Super close up, Paul. Its quite surprising just how many species of flies
there are in Britain, so I can't help you with ID.It will probably have a very long Latin name for sure.
