Lovely capture with a clear background and highlights - composition is excellent and the reult is pin sharp. Definately one to be proud of.

Two questions if I may: 1) what is GSW; and 2) was this staged in someway? I ask the latter as I am interested in developing my own fieldcraft and I never seen to be able to find the right back drop.

Regards,

Adam

1. Great Spotted Woodpecker.
2. Answer to this is definitely no.
The stump is at the Local nature reserve and the background is just the lens opened fully to blur the background .

Jays are very common around my office but they won't stop still long enough for me to get a picture :-( I have to content myself with watching them instead.
