Short Earred Owl captured a shortwhile ago today. This owl was one of four hunting across afield in North Wales.
Car as hide.
Bean bag.
Iso 200
1/1250 th
Sunny But high winds.
Only managed to get acouple of shots before this bird went to ground with its quarry.

Contrast and or saturation on the bird looks a little over done on my screen otherwise a cracking capture

The bird looks a little over sharpened, however this is still an excellent capture, better than any bird in flight image I've taken

Lovely to see them head-on in flight. The setting is good and natural, too.

I must say that the eyes are a little strange, however - maybe they seem a bit bright or saturated for the distance? Not sure.

First shot I remember seeing of an owl absolutely head-on. The forground grass just makes the composition for me.

Very nice, yet to turn up in my area which is not good.
They're normally about by now but it hasen't been cold enough up north or abroad to make them move to warmer areas.. :-(
