Early morning shot of this classic view of the Old Man of Storr over Loch Fada, on the Isle of Skye. Caught this on my Canon A95 as it was the only zoom I had with me at the time. Settings: ISO 50, WB daylight, vivid colour effect.

I thought I'd apply an "S" curve to this to see how much difference it might make and it's cheered it up quite a bit. There is, however quite a bit of damage down the RHS; if it was a print, I'd call it "banding." You can just about see it here but it's obvious in PS.

Why is nobody adding any descritions these days? Please add a description when uploading to the Critique gallery.
The first thing that strikes me about the image is the blueness of everything and I'm unsure why nobody seems to have mentioned it above, I'm pretty sure that the rocks on the OM of Storr aren't blue well they weren't when i last saw them. It looks like the cameras white balance has been fooled here, not a problem really if you shoot in RAW format but for JPEG the options to change it are limited.
Also I can't work out why this shot is in portrait orientation and not landscape as I'd love to see the bottom of the slope on the right side, perhaps there was some elements to the left or right that weren,t good to include. I'm not sure about the settings on the Powershot but I think shooting this with the landscape option or setting the aperture manually would have been a better option because the f/4.9 aperture recorded in EXIF isn't really a good choice for a landscape/seascape type of shot, f/16 or f/22 might have been better choices to ensure everything was in focus however, there isn't too much foreground interest so I think you've managed to keep everything in focus luckily.
I too have uploaded a mod where I've removed the blueness from the image (especially the rocks) and cropped the top and bottom to remove uneeded sky and water. I adjusted the levels and then sharpened.
