To be honest this was a complete grab shot as the gull flew past and I'm very pleased at how well it came out - cropped a bit from the original and a bit of levels and sharpening in PS.

I particularly like the translucent effect on the wing allowing you to see the underlying structure of the wing feathers and how they interweave (you need to view large to see this at it's best)

Taken today at the harbour in Cellardyke (near Anstruther)

For a grab shot you've done very well. Everything is sharp and it looks quite good with the blue bg.
