Memories of me being a 14 year old boy when I went into a record shop to buy my first single.
Nights in White Satin by the Moody Blues for the pricely sum of two bob and a tanner !!
Or half a crown, or two and six, or half a dollar, if you like.
We had plenty names for our money in these good old days.
(And I do believe the Moody Blues are still playing today.Although I suspect it will take them a while to actually remember what instrument they do play !!)
Mick.

I did, but sadly it (HMV) closed a few weeks ago Sad Such a shame, as there's very few outlets in Wakefield that have such a comprehensive range of CDs and DVDs. A great candid capture though, Chris Smile

I'm not so sure it's a lost cause - they are producing LPs again over here - it's the sound - they just can't reproduce it on the CDs and mp3s.
Nice capture.

I know Anne. I wish I still had my Dansette. Still got lots of vinyl and it sounds great, scratches and all. Smile

Our last local record shop sadly closed 3 years ago.. Brilliant memories of hanging out in there Saturdays , the equivalent big name store doesn't appeal at all! Great candid shot

If I had a record player I might... but I still have a collection of records in my loft! This is super Chris - love the composition and the 'line' of children presumably waiting to go into the Tate. They look quite orderly.... Smile

I like that T-shirt Grin Well seen and superbly captured, Chris.

I lament the attack of the intangible over the tangible. First it was records. Now CD shops are disappearing. Worst of all, a couple of BOOKSHOPS have closed over here. Sad state of affairs, huh?
