Another image from Rainham Marshes taken last week when there was a hazy sun hovering somewhere overhead. Apart from trade ships and ferries carrying on their business up and down the Thames, there was a smattering of yachts making the most of the good weather. Here's one with a gantry thing in the background. I've no idea what it is but no doubt someone on here will know.
The colour tone is a cool blue but it's entirely natural so it saved me some work converting to mono. 
V2 facing the other way with some heavier river traffic.

I very much like the colour in this one - very subdued and appealing.
Have no idea what that structure in the background is - looks like it's got a observation deck in the middle. The other thing I notice is the power lines and structures - they look just like the ones we have here.

What hits me here is the contrast between these two, taken at the same location. The romantic in me favours the lazy near-emptiness of V1.

The bright hazy light seems to be a feature of the Thames Estuary. I like the natural monochrome effect. v1 has a lovely balance to it as well as a contrast between leisure and industry.

The gantry thing is one of the lesser Thames Barriers on the various rivers which flow into the Thames Estuary.They can be raised or lowered,as necessary.
Curious shot,it looks as though the yacht is about to run aground.
