Recently, I was one of the winners of the B&W photo competition on EPZ, and as a consequence, I won a copy of Perfect Photo Suite 7.
The effects that you can create in this program are varied, and quite striking.
I was playing around in the program, and this is one of the results.
I know it's certainly not everyone's cup of tea, but it's fun mucking around with it.
What do you think? Pretty Grungy?
Cleverly manipulated, Phillip, with snow on the trees and what looks like a large puddle of water in the foreground. Carol

Wonderful mono image Phillip
It suits the scene and makes it look on the same lines as those old masters by the Parisian photographers
Wow!!!! It's my first attempt at digital manipulation!!! I can't believe it has won a HC!!! I'm totally chuffed! Thanks, Pete!
I think it is in the style of classic mono, so well done!
great effect and I like the way the person is right in front of the steps-candid or posed?
This is complete digital manipulation. The man was added to the scene!
Congratulations in order first, Phil: and a very striking composition and image here.
This is a grand manipulation.....the fact that the manipulations aren't obvious is a feather in your cap. A dramatic and well worked image.
Love it! Great atmosphere in this wonderfully composed image. Makes me want to know who is that man all by himself, he seems rather important.......Sandy
I remember your original with the white, pristine snow. This one is definitely 'urban' snow and suits the scene perfectly.
It has made a great image, well worth mucking about with
I think it's a very striking shot and congratulations.
Congratulations on today's award and your competition win. This is a wonderfully composed and presented composition and fully deserving of the award.
Firstly, congratulations both on winning in the competition, then gaining the HC. Like the effect the manipulation has achieved. Suspect I'd have liked the original anyway and the composition looks excellent and I just love that tangle of branches!
I think this is a stunning photo you produced here Phil !! Those branches of the tree alone is stunning enough
Excellent Phil, manipulation perfectly believable Congratulations on the win.
Think it is brilliant Phil..........
This is excellent work Phillip, congrats for your awards!
It works for me wonderful image!
It works for me too - a great image and very convincing. Congrats from me too on both awards!
Works very well. Great shot. Ann.
love it ,,,,
Love this Phillip, very well done.
Well it works for me, excellent. Well done on winning the comp too.
Got to agree with all the above. Just excellent.
Congratulations on all the above awards Phil
very deserving, a great image and perfectly presented
not a fun of digital manipulation, but this works pretty well.
congrats for the HC
Love it! Great work
Nice one well done, regards Leon.
well the 'mucking' brought a stunning result. Looks like a grunge generator!
An amazing image
I love mucking about too - I'm going to look into PPS7, but I'm currently thrilled with my NIK software - you can do amazing stuff with it too.
