On A trip to the Lake District I spotted this lonely Hawthorn. I caught this shot just as a shaft of light lit the area.

I think overall it is really striking. I like that the shap of the twisted branches is almost reflected in the shapes in the clouds. The burnt white blob in front of the tree is a distraction. What an incredible shape though. Julia

This is a fantastic shot with real drama in it. I disagree that the burnt out spot is a distraction. That shaft of light makes the photo; it simply wouldn't have the same impact without it. Top work!

What a wonderful tree. And you've captured it so well. I agree with Spike, I think the image works as it is.

Tree-mendous shot! (sorry... Smile)

Seriously, very striking. The shape of the tree combined with the IR effect and cloud formation make this a real stand-out shot. Well done.

Very good composition, the tree has done all of the work here, but a very good find, and I am sure you will be back for different light.

Lucky you to find such a fantastic image.

All the very best
