I must admit I don't know quite what is going on here. I stumbled across this little scene which at the time struck me as quite beautiful, but on reviewing the single image I caught before being hustled away I'm aware of some unsettling undertones. I am lucky though in that my page here is visited by the most well informed and imaginative members of this site... some of whom, I'm sure, will know what this small ceremony is all about.
What is going on?

Yes, after looking at this for a bit - really quite disturbing. It's that precisely raised little finger...
Moira
All is not as it seems me-thinks..............and the 4th in the queue seems to be having second thought about parting with his jewel - I'm with Moira about that finger
Brilliant as ever ![]()

Helen
its the offering of the spring lights,
what happens is
the lights are given to the mother light,
they are presented in the cave of the pink.
she will nurture them for a few weeks
and then let them go free to
germinate,
and soon we will be basking in the light spring
cant wait.
how lucky for you to have witnessed this secret ceremony.paree
'The Offering Of The Spring Lights'
Thank you Paree, I was sure you'd have the answer and I hoped it would turn out to be something like that.
I'm glad some of you saw the innocence in this. The original idea was for the kids to be bringing flowers for a sort of Earth Mother to wind into her hair but when it went underground and the flowers turned to stars it became more interesting and open to interpretation... so thank you Mavis, you clearly have a pure soul
... and Chris, I like your vision of how Epz really ought to work. ![]()
I love the SOUL TAKERS idea, thanks for that CPT... and your idea Dave. Maybe another version with a pit behind her for the cast off lightless husks. ![]()
Thankyou too Moira and Helen for taking the trouble to search out the little subtlties.
Thank you for that Mavis, It's always a delight to see Teddy pop up on my page.
It's a job to see in this light whether that little chap is just shy or if he's broken one of the sparkles off his star and is anxiously trying to fix it before he's caught out. ![]()
