My take on Anthony Gormley's 'Another Place'

While 'Another Place' is wonderfully at home on Crosby's flat' wide open beach I couldn't help wondering how it would get on set amongst Cornwall's dramatic rocky outcrops. While it would be enormous fun coming across the enigmatic figures round corners and behind rocks the effect would be lost... so I've come up with my own idea. I hope he doesn't mind.

V2 I call 'Small Indignities'. Back where he belongs, but maybe wishing to be elsewhere. Smile

Much better than this

V2 is a hoot. Love it.

Well, I think it's fun and I doubt if he'd mind. I once heard Seamus Heaney talking about his published poems and being asked if he ever wanted to re-work them. His response was "No, once they're out in the world they have to stand for themselves." Or words to that effect. I suspect that Gormley will feel the same way. In your Cornish picture you've re-worked the idea really well.

Marvellous, what a fine landscape. I think we ought to speak to Mr Gormley and see if he'll organise it. V2, what an excellent view of this installation! Hahaha!
