Another from my "sunset" batch.

Cropped quite a lot and played around with the black and white, no real idea what I'm doing with back and white, just adjusted sliders here and there and got something I like.

The springer, Holly is black and white to start so I had a head start, the image started out very warm as Holly was bathed in light from the setting sun.

Went out and bought a magazine today with an article on black and white photography, I'm starting to see the attraction in none colour photography now, quite addictive isn't it Grin

Thanks for looking Smile

Well if this is a first effort keep producing B/W.
We have a Springer too and you've captured their essence well.
Nice one..

Great shot, and what a happy, mucky dog. A bit more contrast maybe, and a bit of dodging and burning in, and I think you'll have cracked this mono stuff. Nice one.
Chris

Ahhhhhhhhhh contrast, dodging and burning, now you've thrown some technical stuff in to the pot, off to do some more reading Grin

Thank you every one for your input Smile
