Another reflection from St Tropez harbour, but this is quite different to the others. Itís a reflection of a black and white boat, a natural mono - but with the rather nice red detail, a life-belt I think. So - natural selective colouring.
So which works better this time - the full frame or the square crop?
Thanks for looking,
Moira

Wonderful natural abstract, and I love the splash of red, definitely V2 for me.

I like them both, but I think the cropped V2 has more impact.
Lovely pattern shots,

Certainly unusual Moira,a natural mono reflection.
And the red is such an ideal addition.Full frame for me.
But as I do prefer the landscape format,I would give this a 90 degree anti clockwise flip !!

Like the reflections and patterns they are making Moria - going against the trend this morning as my preference is version 1.

That's nice. I just prefer v1 for the nice darks at the bottom, but that tiny bit of black at the top bugs me. Well seen. I even like the selective colour, which normally I don't Wink

V.1 works best for me, Moira, a terrific abstract, and the small show of red makes it just that much more special. Carol

I don't usually look beyond V1 but as I am intio square crops and you asked the question I had a look and I must say I prefer the square crop.

Thanks to everyone who has called in on a grey Monday morning (well it's grey here). Just done the five-bar gates and V2 is winning 12:5. In principle I like square as a format for abstracts, it seems punchier, but I didn't want to lose either the red or the detail at the bottom of the full frame. So full frame went as V1.
JBA I see what you mean about that black bit, I remember cropping it out of V2 because it seemed more intrusive there...

A lovely abstract indeed.
And V2 for me too - the engine or whatever it is in the bottom of V1 takes away from the abstractiness * of the idea.

For some reason-- v2 seems to work better-- I think , maybe, because it is less for the eye to gather, more amd more prominent details surface effortlessly!
I love this abstract!

I really love both, but since you are asking, suppose it has to be V2. V1 is actually the image which draws me most, but I noticed the grey section at the top and that engine thing at the bottom, both of which I wasn't so happy about, otherwise I'd have gone for it as I actually prefer the format.

Wonderful abstract pattern. The splash of colour certainly takes the eye.
My own preference is for version 1 because I like the the longer lead from the bottom right to the colour near top left. Thank you for your mod on my gallery. Charles.
