Photo of my beautiful niece - looks can be so deceiving - she is a very determined little girl, yet looks as though shes so meek and mild!

Its a beautiful expression, angelic, and a nice soft presentation.
A couple of comments:
Portraits work better generally with the subject looking at the lens, though as with this shot, shooting quickly for the moment sometimes doesnt allow for a pose.
It benefits from a little curves/levels adjustment which brightens the image overall.
The colour for me is a little too saturated. A closer crop, removing some of the shirt area can also be worth a try.
Have uploaded 2 mods with these suggestions applied.
Hope this helps
PS, - uploaded the wrong file for one of them, its the original.

The eyes are so important and they are great here
Nice image. Unlike one of the other comments, I like the bright saturated view of life (Like good old Kodachrome Colour Transparency Film). Next time, change the Menu in the camera to Aperture Priority and use a setting of f/5.6 on the extended part of the Zoom. You should get razor sharp eyes with a progressive drop off in sharpness as you go back towards the ears. The eyes are a window to the soul. Regards. Bajanexile
Beautiful portrait! I like the angelic expression, whether intentional or not.
Her eyes are gorgeous.Nice that she is looking away, gives it a feel of not being too posed. Trish
