On Sunday we struggled and finally figured out how to 'step' the mast. That's one of the benefits and curses of a small boat. It means you can take the mast down, then drive to wherever you want to explore. Unfortunately it means you have to brush up on what seems a lot like modern caber-tossing.... I got Emma to go up on the fore deck where she started playing with one of the lines. So I crouched down and took a shot.
I KNOW SHE DOESN'T HAVE A LIFEJACKET ON! The boat is on blocks in the backyard, alright! So apart from the safety oversight I thought it made a great summer-fun shot from an implied angle most photographers don't want to place their camera....
Launch is next Sunday, weather permitting (although I told Lisa I wanted to launch even if it snowed). So if you don't hear from me next week, call the Coast Guard!

Hey Jennnn, funny you should mention that.... Lisa is insisting we christen it, especially since we're also changing her name to Carpe Diem. And since the marina doesn't like people smashing glass bottles on their launch ramps we'll have to come up with another way to remove the bubbly from the container! :-P
