We made it back alive! Discovered the hard way that our little boat can float in only 1.5 feet of water.... since that was what remained when the engine started back up and I hauled our asses away from the rocks!

We spent two days exploring the area around Saddle Island on the western side of Amet Sound. Never did cross the Strait, that just seemed like too big an adventure for our first trip. This shot is from the island, taken showing our boat Carpe Diem at anchor just off a little beach. The building is an abandoned house (all locked up too, or I'd have shots of the inside!).

I'll catch up with all over the next couple of days. The forecast is calling for rain, rain, rain, so no more fun for awhile!
