Another June, another ballet recital for my daughter. She's not in this shot, at least I don't think she is. The lights hadn't actually come on yet but I could see the faint outline of these girls as they got ready. So at 1600 ISO wide open, shake reduction on and holding my breath I tried for the shot.
In other news, the boat is in the water and not sunk (yet). We did have an adventure getting to the marina. I was following in the chase car (taking pictures as I drove naturally), which probably saved my car. I'd hold back to try and get the boat and trailer starting on a turn to see a bit more side-on. Well after a particular bump the wind got under the hatch and blew it and the upper door right off the boat and onto the highway... So my job was to pick up all the bits.... Fortunately there was no serious damage and I was able to get it back on later.
Then of course we got it in the water and the motor (which started no problem) wouldn't shift into gear! Doohh! Got her all tied up next to the launch ramp while we worked on it. That was when we had the pleasure of watching somebody ram their sailboat full speed onto their dock.... People were diving for cover and surprisingly once things settled down there was little obvious damage! Made us feel better tho!
Enjoy!
Doug
