It's been a long few months here at the homestead. Changes in every aspect of my life have kept me away from most of my online endeavors. The good news is that I kept taking pictures, so will try to catch up since last October when we last saw the denizens of the Greenville Zoo, in South Carolina. Since then I've been back to SC, and spent 2 weeks in France. Although shots of the interior of a conference room would make boring viewing I did get away for a weekend to Bordeaux, which provided lots of challenge for the memory card!

Anyway, all in good time. I'll be moving soon as I change jobs (no, not to France!) but will try and keep up the regimen of a picture a day and to check out what all my online friends are up to. I'd also like to send a shout out to acharr, who's image I saw gracing the pages of Photo Life magazine a month or so back. Right on!

Oh, the picture? The boat Carpe Diem in the backyard, before the tarp went on, waiting for the next season of sailing. Since the back field is north eagle-eyed viewers can find the Big Dipper in the sky. The name of the picture comes from the expression sailors use for when their boat is out of the water.

Cheers! Doug

Nice to see you back Doug, even if you are stranded on dry land.
A nice starry low light image.

Hi Guys, good to hear from you all again! Well Allan, the good news is that I'll be closer to the coast, closer to where I grew up and closer to family. The bad news is the boat is going in a different direction! So once I'm settled I have to save my pennies for a new one.

Doug

Well, well, well....look who finally decided to start putting some pictures up for us to enjoy. And I must say that I'm partial to this one and hoping to get a copy of it!!

I'm not much of a photographer myself, but as Doug knows, I'm a big fan of his work. So I thought I'd register so I could post a comment every now and then.

Great picture of little Carpe Diem!! She looks so cute there in front of the night sky! Love it!
