Taken a year or two ago. I was sat taking snaps of blue and great tits when this landed about 2 metres in front of me. My lens wouldn't zoom out far enough as I was too close so I chopped a foot off unfortunately.

This is full frame and straight from the camera. Any suggestions on crop or otherwise would be welcome.

Camera:Canon EOS 300D
Lens:Canon 75-300mm standard kit lens

You might try cropping to a vertical format? A very good exposure under the circumstances you describe.
