I like this - not sure why, because it appears as just a blur of colors, with no real focus point.
But I think I like the narrow DOF having the green leaves in focus and the background fall colors out of focus - maybe that in itself says something artsy - like the "foreground is still summer" or something like that.
I'm done talking now!!! ![]()

Thanks...no that's a valid comment completely and mirrors my initial thoughts too. I just snapped this with not real expectations til I saw the colours and light on the monitor when I got back. Odd isn't it? It's my desktop wallpaper for now anyway. LOL!
Really like these kind of shots - they don't fall into the "1st glance" category - you need to look at them!
+ve: Great DOF. Lovely Colours

Does suffer from that 'lack of direction/focus' but actually don't think it matters too much.
Not enough contrast between FG and BG leaves - reckon with Shadow/Highlight you could put emphasis on the focussed leaves whilst dropping BG into more shadow

difficult one, on the colourside very pleasing, but the dof let it down, a good exercise and an image that a lot be learnt from, click (*:*)
Thanks...I agree with everything that's been said. A lesson to be learned there - don't just point and click! LOL!
+ve Like the shadows and colour of the green leaves against the contrast of the background.
-ve It was the twig or shadow at the bottom running from left to right that I found distracting.
Disagree with you comment on not just pointing and clicking tho..... always worth a try!
