We were in Edinburgh yesterday and I was looking for some interesting street scenes.
Rather sad, I'm afraid but I couldn't help taking the picture. Maybe he was happy.
Many thanks for all your vs & cs for Boats at Balmaha.
The perfect choice of subject! A very curious and interesting composition!
Here in Pennsylvania, one can only buy liquor at a "state store" --- (state run business---fancy way to get revenue without taxing people)
Your store look lovely and interesting!
A fine candid, Kate: one that begs a question about the fellow's circumstances.
Given that it seems sunny with strong shadows, I am a but surprised at some of the EXIF data.......eg. 1/20 sec. at f/11.
Excellent image Kate !!!!!
Well spotted and captured, Kate, I think he would be better off sitting outside a men's clothing store, he looks badly in need of a new pair of jeans for the winter Carol
Funny they sell Scotch and Irish I see by the sign. Poor man is staring at the barrel hoping a kind soul will tap it for him. LOL.
I love candid shots and this is a "beauty".
Well spotted Kate!
maybee he's a verry rich man that loves to show his knees.
A Great image, that look's an old shop Kate
He looks happy enough
There's a story there, well seen.
Very well observed Kate - lots of interest in this
brilliant detail kate wonderful colours and light a cracking candid nice one
Wow..would love a pair of those designer jeans
Cracking candid Kate , the guy looks happy enough to me
Excellent candid Kate.
Great candid shot which tells its own story.. Excellent observation
Perhaps he's ever hopeful - nice candid Kate.
incredibly poignant shot, crying out pathos....peter
The perfect shop for me
Good candid that makes a story, Kate. He's just exaggerated the fashion, that's all. He looks happy.
Now if he were a teenager he would right in style!!!!!
A great candid Kate, like the comp, great title

What a great candid capture, maybe he is hoping for a wee tot or two
An excellent shot Kate but a rather sad reflection of the times to me. People can always find money for booze and cigarettes but cannot afford a decent pair of jeans, Just my take.
the jeans are probably worth a fortune Suggested to swap my old work jeans for a meal once.. after I saw what my young employee had bought for a lot of money
maybe he wants to trade them in for the barrel.
A great capture of this fine spirit shop front.
With a great character to set it off. Nicely processed
and magic colours. Well done Kate.
A great shot, Kate!
He looks to be in good spirits to me!!
What a nice shop!!
This looks like my kind of shop!
Shame about his jeans though!
Excellent candid shot Kate..Lin
He doesn't look like a homeless person to me, i think he's just taking a rest in the heat and contemplating what he's going to buy from the Liquor store. As for those jeans what a state they are in, I know that Scotsmen are renowned for being tight and not spending any cash but this takes the biscuit!
