Hi Steven, welcome to ePz. I think you could have done with a lens hood when taking this. A little sun flare is often nice in a shot like this, but this is too strong. If you don't have a hood you could try holding something above and in front of the camera.
It's a shame about the flare because the rest of the shot looks good, with the river in the bottom.
