Do you have images on your hard drive that you think WHY did I take that, well this is one of those, then I suddenly thought its Saturday and it has a shadow so why not, and anyway it does not always have to be serious and we should take photos just because we want to.

Don't be afraid to just pass this one by.

Regards. - gary

Nice rippled texture as well as those fascinating letters! Could be the start of a really intriguing novel, don't you think with this as the front cover? Tongue

Wonder what the CH 227 is? - Maybe you were collecting numbers/letters at the time? - I went through a phase of shooting numbers plates for a few months!

No reason is ever needed for taking a photograph as far as I'm concerned, Gary.
If you had not taken it you would now be kicking yourself Smile

I agree, Gary, take shots of what appeals to you or captures the imagination at the moment, then if others like it too, then that's a double bonus.

I've certainly taken many images which I scratch my head over now - some because they're so badly composed
and some which like you I think why!
So you've left us with an unsolved mystery. I like EAS's idea of it being a book cover.

Why on earth did anyone carve their inititials and some random numbers onto that bench? We will never know, not that you probably give a toss anyway as your beloved Swansea jacks are riding high in the Premiership !Smile

I like the contrast between the wrinkles in the paint and the strong, straight scratches in the letters.

Well are you sure you never had a new penknife and tried it out on the bench as IB stated I think it's a secret code" Come Here at 22.00 on the 7th!" you have been caught out, lol.

Liked the write up. And yes I know that feeling, when you have an image and you think why it is there...
